This will vary depending on what other things I'm working on. In general, allow 6 weeks to receive your painting. If you need it for a particular date, let me know and I'll try to accommodate.

I ask for a 10% deposit to cover the cost of materials.

I will send you a photograph of the final painting. If you don't like it, we can cancel the commission. The 10% deposit is non-refundable but there will be no other costs (or bad feeling!). If you are unhappy with a painting when you receive it, you can return it to me (at your cost) and I will refund the full price minus the deposit and postage.

I much much much prefer painting on canvas so I don't offer paper as standard. But if you'd like paper let me know. Canvasses will come with painted edges so can be hung unframed - they're very light, and easy to hang with a single nail. Paper artworks require framing.

Yes. Please let me know where you would like the artwork shipped to, and I'll give you a quote for shipping. Within the UK, shipping is free.

Photographs. The quality of the portrait will depend on the quality of the photographs.

For a portrait, ideally I need a selection of head-and-shoulders photographs to choose from, taken in good lighting, without smiles. But I will try to work with whatever you can provide. If I can't work from the photographs provided, I will let you know and we may have to cancel (at no cost). The quality of the portrait will depend on the quality of the photographs.

Please let me know if you have any special requests. Before accepting the commission, I will let you know if I can accommodate them. While I can try to use colours that will coordinate with room or wall colour, I cannot guarantee this.
